The scientific study of climate has become trivialized and politicized as those with agendas battle it out in the media, and armchair scientists choose sides based on beliefs. The complexities of climate and our ecosystem lend themselves well to such discourse. Here you will find a discussion of scientific climate studies, popular rhetoric, and implications of current and potential governmental climate change policies.

Decent storm and a lot of rain
Monday night August 5th into Tuesday Muncie had about two inches of rain. This storm produced a tornado report north of Muncie near Wabash. Here there was a report of a large tree down on the east side of town, a few barns and farm strucutres destroyed in the county, brief power outages with at least one gust of aroud 60mph. Lots of cool lightning to bad my camera having difficulties. This system more typical of a fall like disturbance with a mid-level trough just reaching into Indiana and the storms moving from the North west. More of these type storms in late summer and early fall will make for an active second severe storm/tornado season here.
